Soccer fan James Freiburger admitted that he was only a few weeks away from giving up on the season as the start of the new season begins in under two weeks.

“Yeah, It’s done,” stated Freiburger to The Nutmeg News. “We don’t have a way to compete. We all know this. I’m going to give it like one game, but I think we can pack it in for the season.”

Sources say that Freiburger was generally critical after the last season, but with some things getting worse he is already looking forward to next season.

“I think that we could be a playoff contender if we get a few pieces in the offseason next year,” stated Freiburger. “However, I think everyone knows that this season is a complete bust. There’s nothing left for us here. Honestly, I’m going to go to the games, but…. well… I’m planning on only enjoying being right.”
