Austin, TX - Stating, “Business metrics don’t support them staying in Vancouver,” a collection of Austin FC fans took the internet to start a #MoveTheCaps campaign.
“Fans in new locations are far more important than fans in original locations because they haven’t been disappointed yet,” stated one anonymous Austin fan. “We must acknowledge that the grass IS greener where there are tax incentives and groups of people who don’t understand how cheap an ownership group really is, yet.”
Sources say that many Austin fans have taken to Facebook and Twitter to lobby Las Vegas fans to start shit talking Vancouver fans as a method to show support for the prospective move of the Whitecaps.
“You gotta start insulting their hometown and their hometown club,” stated one anonymous Austin fan. “That’s how you get the team to move. Remember, it’s all about flattering the ego of the millionaire and alienating the local fan. If you convince the MLS league executives that there’s enough interest of enough fans who are just a walking ATM then you can get your own team in your own town.”
